About Customer Relationship Management

Welcome to DesignVAR CRM!

We are pleased to have you as a partner.  You have just taken the first step to adding a significant services and revenues to your current offering.  Web Design provides opportunities for large profits to your company.  DesignVAR brings this to you.

The DesignVAR CRM accomplishes two goals:

  1. Increases traffic to your website by consistently bringing your clients back to your site to review progress on their website development.
  2. Provides a medium for your clients to deliver their instructions for development of their site (which is invisibly passed to DesignVAR to complete).

DesignVAR makes it easy for you to:

  • Add Design to your current offering and/or website
  • Sell Web Design
  • Manage the Design Process
  • Pass Client content to DesignVAR
  • Deliver a professional, quality site to your client

Please review this guide to setting up your DesignVAR Private Label Web Design Service .

We are available to support you with any questions or assistance you may have.
Let's get started on getting your company setup to sell web design:

Upon receipt of your partner agreement DesignVAR will send you a zipped package.  This package will consist of files that will allow you to do the following:

  1. Install the DesignVAR private label Customer CRM on your site
  2. Build Design Services into your website

Step 1. Installing the Private Label CRM:

Step2

The file    customer.zip   should be unzipped and loaded into your root directory of your site.  Unzipping and loading this file will create the CRM access on your page and allow your clients to deliver content to you. Your company designer (or designvar) can adjust the information to integrate professionally into your site.

There are 3 options initially visible on the Customer CRM. These are : View My Projects, Edit Account Info, and Logout.

View My Projects

Choosing this option shows the current projects that the customer has active. These projects are listed as domain names. The date of the start of the project is listed for viewing here. If a client has more than one project in progress, multiple domain names will be listed. Clicking on the project (domain name) will show new options to the client.

What the client will now see is what looks to be a shopping cart.

This shopping cart is not active to your billing with DesignVAR, but instead provides the customer with a listing of what they have purchased from you along with options for purchasing additional design elements below. You will notice that your plan (as you have named it) appears on the top of the cart. The customer sees the plan names as you have named them in your reseller CRM.

Your customer also sees options below for adding additional elements. These elements when chosen by the client will populate your reseller CRM with the element selection and the designation that they are not paid. This allows you to approach your client about billing for items they may want to add to their site. You may change the status yourself when you have billed your customer and been paid.

  • Contact Designer: This selection gives your client an opportunity to internally email you information they would like you to have. This may include instructions or anything else. The mail is sent internally between the Reseller CRM and Customer CRM so that it is self-contained and does not require a mail server by domain.

  • List Messages: This selection lets your client look at the messages they have sent to the designer, as well as what the designer has sent them. This is one of the means of facilitating development requests.

  • Upload Content: This option allows your client to browse their computer and select files (any file) to upload. These files are visible in your reseller CRM. Our designers also see these files.

You will notice there are 4 selections for file delivery. Clients choose what type of content is selected based on what the client is actually delivering.

  • Initial Information: This selection is used for providing the designer (you.. but really designvar) with the information on how to start on the project. This should include any color schemes the client wants to have used, any instructions regarding their type of business, etc.

  • Menu Description: This selection is used by the client to instruct what type of navigation they would like on their site, and the names of the pages they will want on their site.

  • Page Content: This selection is used by the client to deliver the content for a particular page. This will normally include text, and by use of the upload tool, any additional images or other graphics they may wish to have on the site.

  • Product Description: If a client is building an online store they will use this selection to indicate that this is a product to be placed in their store, and also any information regarding the product including price, images, text to describe it, etc.

The large “Enter Content” field is available for instructing what to do with the file the customer has attached. It is important that the client communicates this to you, the reseller, as DesignVAR will see these instructions and proceed as indicated by the client.

Once this CRM is installed into your website, your client will be able to pass information through it to designvar invisibly. You will be able to see all transactions of information and requests as the communication develops and the site progresses.

The CRM also has the added benefit of increasing traffic on your website which gives you added exposure to your client and the opportunity for consistent upselling while the design process progresses.

Edit Account Info

Step 2. Building the DesignVAR pages into your site.

DesignVAR provides you with the pages and content you need to sell design on your site. This is provided to you and is able to be edited to place in your own pricing, plan names, etc. These pages will be delivered to you at the same time as the CRM.

All of the pages are important to selling design. When selling design, clients like to see examples of what they will purchase. For this reason, it is important that you familiarize yourself with the features of each package, and the additional elements available. DesignVAR even goes as far as allowing you to use our previously designed sites as your own portfolio on your website.

What if I can't build this into my site myself?

DesignVAR offers you the option of having our designers build the files into your site (to maintain the look and feel of your existing site). If you would like to have this done for you, please contact our staff and we will complete this for you.

The design section of the site is separated into normal file structure and delivered to you in a .zip file. Simply extract the files, customize the plan name, pricing, and whatever other images you want to change and publish to your site.

Using the DesignVAR Reseller CRM

Once you have become a partner you will wish to go directly into the Reseller CRM and start setting it up to reflect your private label information. To access the Reseller CRM go to www.designvar.com/reseller/login/php or simply go to the www.designvar.com site and enter your username and password (assigned to you by DesignVAR).

Accessing the Reseller CRM will bring you to the entry screen for maintaining your clients.

Follow these directions to private label your reseller crm. [IMPORTANT: The information you enter during this process will reflect what your customer sees.]

•  Select “Reseller Plans”

You will see the following screen:

Choose to Add a Plan name. You will now name 4 plans (with names of your choosing) which will correspond to the type of package you resell through DesignVAR.

Reseller Plan Name: Enter the name of your plan here

Reseller Plan Price: Enter the price you will charge your customers here

VAR Plan: Enter the plan you are reselling from DesignVAR to correspond to the

Reseller Plan Name above

Press SAVE.

You have now created your first plan. Later when your customer uses their CRM they will see this information (your private label information).

Repeat this 4 times until you have finished renaming and re-pricing all of the DesignVAR plans. You should end up with names of your plans now on your reseller plans section.

You will now go to Reseller Plan Elements:

Here you will be able to edit the pricing of the elements available for adding on to packages. Simply edit the price you wish to sell the element at (for each element) and press SAVE. Your customers will see this price while using their CRM at your site.

This completes the setup of your Reseller CRM. Let's now take a look at how to use your CRM to add clients.

Using “Subscribe Customer”

This option must be used when you have signed up a new client for design services. Using this option notifies DesignVAR that you have a new client and to start a new project.

You are first asked to enter a username and password for your client to have access to the CRM on your site. Choose this information and press NEXT.

Fill in the following screen. For “ftp username designer will use” and “password for designer ftp access” please use the ftp username and password for the client hosting account. You will change this following completion and publication of the design work.

You will receive notice that the account was successfully created.

Now choose to “List Customers”

Check and see that the new customer has been added. There will be a link as the first name and last name as seen below:

Choose your customer on the right column. In this instance we will choose “ sam sam ”. You will see a new menu on the left navigation.

You now have access to add projects to this customer. Click on “Add Project”.

You will see that your plan names appear in the selection. You will choose which plan your customer purchased and enter information here about how to start the project. This could be information that was given to you in your discussion with the customer. Enter information and press SAVE

Now choose “List Projects” and see the new project listed as a domain name:

Clicking on the domain name will take you into the shopping cart area for your client.

From here you may:

  • Send messages to your client using the internal mailing system
  • List messages you've received from your client and DesignVAR
  • Upload Content to DesignVAR designers
  • List Content on the project already delivered to you by the client

Sending messages to your client:

You can use this area to send requests and information to your client. The mail is internal to the system and does not bridge the private label.

You may also list messages that you have received from your clients as well as messages you have sent to them previously.

Incoming messages are messages your client has sent you through the customer crm located on your website. Outgoing messages are those messages that have been sent by you.

Uploading Content

Uploading content for the design is simple with DesignVAR. Here you may browse your own computer if needed to deliver content to the designers. It is generally not necessary for resellers to load content. However, if required, this option is available.

List Content

You may “list content” to see what your client has provided for instructions and content for the development of their site. Content and instructions appear as links to view and are time dated to track progress of the development and delivery of the content by the client. Clicking the link exposes the content and instructions given.

Reseller Billing

Following entry of the new client and design selection in your reseller CRM, you must visit the “My Account” link and enter the plan into your account with DesignVAR. Billing occurs in advance of site work and plans entered into the CRM are cross-checked with the Billing account to determine payment status. Resellers are contacted within 1 business day of when the request has been entered into the billing system.

Upon partnership you will receive a registration number and password. Follow the My Account link and enter the Registration number and password assigned to you upon subscription of your DesignVAR partnership.

Upon entering this information, you will see the following screen:

Select Account: c. Reseller

Select Service: j. Reseller Web Design

Select the plan from the drop down that you have sold your client. The names of these plans are
DesignVAR plans and are not named as your plans.

Assign your customer a “Customer ID”. Each customer must have a unique number assigned. However, when adding any additional plans or elements for the same customer, you must use the same “Customer ID”.

Press Next

You will receive a subscription confirmation indicating that your customer plan creation is successful.

You must repeat this process whenever you add additional elements to a customer plan, or create a new client and plan.

You may now exit the billing system. DesignVAR is ready to receive your client's content and create their site.
